Sparrow Research/Website

The Sparrow Office of Human Research Administration is pleased to announce the launch of a new research website at Sparrow.org/Research.

Sparrow is dedicated to improving the delivery of health care for our Patients by participating in innovative, high quality, clinical research to aid and support the development of the body of knowledge in the field of medicine. An important key to helping Sparrow fulfill its mission and vision is through medical (clinical) research.

The Sparrow Cancer Center has one of the largest clinical trial programs in the state dedicated to advancing cancer treatment.  In 2012 Sparrow joined forces with the Thoracic & Cardiovascular Healthcare Foundation to create the Sparrow Clinical Research Institute.  As a teaching hospital, Sparrow has continued to strengthen its affiliation with Michigan State University by forming a joint initiative, the Center for Innovation and Research, which supports fellowships and recruits established researchers to develop, test, implement and evaluate innovative approaches in health care. Learn more about Sparrow's robust research community:

Please visit the website for guidance and tools to help you with your research project. We would love to hear your feedback. Please feel free to contact the OHRA with questions, concerns, or suggestions by calling 517.364.2157, or email IRB@Sparrow.org.

One of the important keys to helping Sparrow fulfill its mission and vision is through medical research. Research is conducted to aid and support the development of the body of knowledge in the field of medicine. Sparrow is dedicated to improving the delivery of health care for our Patients by participating in innovative, high quality clinical research. Research is important at Sparrow, and we want research endeavors to be successful.

The process of preparing, conducting, and managing research can be challenging and understanding the various rules and regulations can be difficult. The Sparrow OHRA has been working to centralize research and develop new policies and procedures to help researchers successfully navigate and facilitate research at Sparrow.

The new guidance material is offered on the new Sparrow Research website at Sparrow.org/Research.

OHRA offered a “Research 102 Workshop” in April 2016, giving the Sparrow Research community a chance to meet and network.  Education and training is a key priority for OHRA.
